The Full Story
Not Your Average Agent. Not Even Close.
Andrew McLellan doesn't fit the mould — and that's exactly the point.
Before real estate, Andrew was a film producer. He studied Broadcasting and Film Production at Niagara College and Communications and Business at Griffith University in Australia, then came home to Burlington to build a video production company with his best friend. They found a niche filming eye surgeries for ophthalmic surgeons in the operating room. It was unconventional, it was challenging, and it worked — which is a pretty good summary of how Andrew approaches everything he does.
Real estate came into the picture through a long-time family friend — a seasoned realtor of 50+ years — who asked Andrew to photograph a listing. Andrew walked into that home, looked around, and felt something click. He started asking questions. His stepfather, a successful entrepreneur, laid it out plainly: "You're going to buy a house soon. Your sister needs a condo. Your brother wants to sell. We move every five years. That's five deals right there." Andrew saw the door open, peeked inside, and walked through it. He hasn't looked back since.
What Working With Andrew Actually Looks Like
Andrew is not running a transaction machine. He's built a real business — one he lives and breathes every day — and when you hire him, you feel that difference immediately.
You're going to get someone authentic. Someone who will tell you the truth even when it's not what you want to hear, and who will say "I don't know, but I'll find out" without hesitation. You're going to get someone who makes people feel genuinely comfortable — the kind of person who can meet a stranger at dinner and have them feel like an old friend by the end of the night. That's not a sales tactic. That's just Andrew.
What you're also getting is a producer at heart. Andrew spent years as the person responsible for getting every moving piece in place — coordinating crews, negotiating budgets, hitting deadlines, making things happen under pressure with no room for excuses. That's exactly what selling or buying a home requires. Clear communication. Sharp negotiation. The right people in the right roles. No drama. Get it done.
The Numbers That Back It Up
Over 12 years and 300+ transactions totalling more than $150 million in sales volume, Andrew has built a track record that speaks for itself. His recent listings have sold at an average of 100.46% of asking price — with several closing well over asking, including one at 107.77%. The median days on market across his recent listings? 8 days.
He works across all price points — from $800K homes in Hamilton's Westdale neighbourhood to $3.4M+ luxury properties — bringing the same level of preparation, strategy, and hustle to every file.
Andrew operates under RE/MAX Escarpment & Niagara, the dominant real estate brokerage in the region. In 2025, RE/MAX Escarpment outsold its top nine competitors combined across Hamilton, Burlington, and Haldimand — closing 17,065 properties, one every 31 minutes. RE/MAX Escarpment agents closed 2.5x more transactions per person than the nearest competing brokerage, and 4.1x more than the industry average. The brokerage ranks #3 on the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board for listings sold province-wide. When you hire Andrew, you're backed by the most powerful real estate network in the area — and one that spans 110+ countries worldwide.
Rooted in This Community
Andrew was born in Oakville, raised in Burlington, and has lived in nearly every neighbourhood this city has to offer — from childhood through to today, where he calls a beautiful bungalow in downtown Burlington home. He's spent years in Oakville, where his mom's family is from, and in Hamilton, where many of his closest friends live. He doesn't just know these markets from a spreadsheet — he knows the streets, the pockets, the schools, the neighbourhoods that are quietly up-and-coming, and the ones that have always been gold.
That depth of local knowledge isn't something you can fake. It comes from a lifetime of living it.
Giving Back
Andrew believes in showing up beyond the transaction. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Mission Services, the Mark Preece Family House, and the JB Foundation. He served as an Easter Seals Ambassador and won the Dancing with the Stars charity competition. He has participated in the Motion Ball Special Olympics Charity Games and volunteered as a videographer for charitable events. Community isn't a checkbox for Andrew — it's part of who he is.
